Orchid De Villa was established by entrepreneur Mr Liew Fook Fah in 1995 with an area of 12 acres. The
Orchid De Villa aims to promote agrotourism by cultivating a living encyclopaedia of plants and flowers here in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Most welcome for all orchid enthusiasts, nature lovers, nature photographers, students of botanical studies, educational groups and tour groups. The Orchid De Villa has a collection of over 300 species of Borneo wild orchids.
Along with conducting guided tours of the orchid collection housed at the Orchid De Villa, also plant commercial hybrid orchids and provide cut orchids to the local florists in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Location:
Orchid De Villa is located about 20 kilometres or 30 minutes' drive from Kota Kinabalu City centre. This short journey treats visitors with delightful sights of traditional kampung houses, paddy fields, hillsides and coastal forest.

Borneo Orchids -
Sabah is home to more than 1,500 species of the 30,000
species of orchids known to man. The
Orchid De Villa has species ranging from the wild to exotic and rare species. Wild orchids are collected mostly from the different parts of
Sabah. Every species is planted following its natural habitat requirements, such as on soil, on trees and rocks. Visitors are invited to explore and learn more about the many species of orchids that
Borneo is so famous for.
Hybrid Orchids -
Commercial orchid cultivation at the
Orchid De Villa covers four acres of hybrid orchids. Most of the seedlings are imported from Thailand and West Malaysia. The hybrids consist of
Dendrobium,
Mokara,
Aranda,
Oncidium and others. From these beautiful orchids, fresh flowers are cut daily and supplied to local florists.
Cactii - The farm has more than 100 varieties of cactii. These include the round or barrel, the elongated and jointed cactuses.
Tropical & Fruit Trees - More than 30 species of commercial tropical trees have been planted around the
Orchid De Villa. We have also a variety of local fruit trees such as jackfruit, mango, mangosteen, durian and rambutan.
Herbal Plants -
Orchid De Villa itself has more than 100 different types of
medicinal plants which grow naturally. In addition, we have planted more than 300 types of
herbal plants for conservation purposes.
